Sergei Loznitsa (Baranovichi, 1964) is a Ukrainian director and editor. Trained in Applied Mathematics and filmmaking at VGIK, he began in documentaries in 1996, receiving wide recognition at Karlovy Vary and Toronto. He debuted in fiction with "My Joy" (2010), followed by "In the Fog" (2012), both in competition at Cannes. In 2014, he returned to documentaries with "Maïdan," focused on the Ukrainian protests.

Synopsis
