Lucas Gallo (Argentina, 1980) is a graduate of the MA in Alternative Cinema (EICTV, Cuba) and the Film Laboratory (UTDT, Argentina). His first feature, "1982" (2019), premiered at IDFA and was screened at numerous festivals including Mar del Plata, It's All True, and Márgenes, where it received the Best Film Award. The film was also nominated for the Silver Condor Award for Best Documentary.

Synopsis

An atmospheric chronicle of Argentina’s 2001 crisis. Using restored archival and television footage, the film creates a real-time experience of a nation on the brink. Eschewing a single didactic reading, it highlights the gray areas and manipulations of the era, serving as a haunting mirror to contemporary political instability.
