Federico Cammarata (1993) and Filippo Foscarini (1990) are graduates of the Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia in Palermo. Their collaboration began with "Tardo agosto" (2021), which drew international festival attention. "Waking Hours" is their first feature-length documentary.

Synopsis
This documentary approaches the refugee crisis through a radical lens: by not showing the tragedy at all. Filmed in a Serbian forest at night, the directors practice empathy and curiosity rather than preaching. By merging with the nocturnal universe, the film shares quiet moments of warmth and humanity before the darkness waits.
