Maximiliano Contenti (Montevideo, 1984) is a filmmaker known for his strong visual style and mastery of genre cinema. His film "The Last Matinee" (Al Morir la Matinée, 2020) gained international cult status and won several awards. His work also includes the acclaimed documentaries "Hélices" (2013) and "Hot Club de Montevideo" (2023).

Synopsis
After a YouTuber disappears, recovered files reveal her obsession with a spiritual guide who claimed to channel extraterrestrial intelligence. "The Channeling" blurs the lines between documentary, sci-fi, and found footage (recalling "The Blair Witch Project"). Director Contenti crafts a disturbing experience where the signal between fantasy and threat never truly breaks.
